Dr. Fonda Jiang is originally from Barstow, CA and remains a proud Barstow High School Aztec alum. She then went on to get her degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the University of Southern California. In her gap year between college and medical school, she worked in recruitment for Teach For America. From there, she went on to the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, CA and then completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Allergen Immunotherapy otherwise known as "Allergy Shots" is a scientifically proven effective strategy to reduce allergy symptoms long term. Allergy sufferers produce abundant amounts of an antibody called IgE which frequently triggers the release of histamine and other chemicals leading to allergy symptoms such as sneezing and congestion in the nose, wheezing in the chest, and itching in the skin. Allergy testing by skin or blood testing identifies the specific nature of allergic sensitivities whether they are pollens, environmentals, or foods.
