Allergen Immunotherapy otherwise known as "Allergy Shots" is a scientifically proven effective strategy to reduce allergy symptoms long term. Allergy sufferers produce abundant amounts of an antibody called IgE which frequently triggers the release of histamine and other chemicals leading to allergy symptoms such as sneezing and congestion in the nose, wheezing in the chest, and itching in the skin. Allergy testing by skin or blood testing identifies the specific nature of allergic sensitivities whether they are pollens, environmentals, or foods.
